CORE KNOWLEDGE AREAS: 90 HOUR REQUIREMENT

How To Meet Your Requirements

You can meet all your AASECT 90 hours of requirements in our upcoming calendar of live courses.

The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) is a national membership organization for sex therapy.

ISTI is an AASECT-approved continuing education provider. You can take coursework through ISTI that meets the education requirements to meet the AASECT Certified Sex Therapist designation.

The education requirements include courses that cover the categories listed on the right.

Please note that the requirements of AASECT are subject to change and their discretion and you will need to apply for Certification directly with their organization.

Time-Sensitive Requirements

AASECT identifies (*) Core Knowledge Areas (CKA) G, H, K, L as "time-sensitive". These categories include topics that change often and therefore the courses you take should contain up-to-date information. Recommended courses are within 2 years of the date you intend to apply for certification.

Recorded Courses

If you need to miss a course that is live, check out our incredible list of recorded courses that will also count toward your requirements.

In order to fulfill certification requirements, no more than 60 hours can be taken with recorded courses.

This program meets the educational requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for CE credits. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification. Completion of this program does not ensure or guarantee AASECT certification.

* A small number of courses fall outside of APA Standards. Please check carefully before purchasing.
