INTEGRATIVE THERAPY: ALTERNATIVE INTERVENTIONS

CATEGORY 3: 15 HOUR REQUIREMENT

How To Meet Your Requirements

You can meet all your ISTI CSCT 15 hours of requirements in our upcoming calendar of live courses. Live courses provide the most beneficial learning experience for the majority of students. You can substitute some classes with recorded courses

Vital to the evolving nature of the field, this category provides in-depth training on Integrative Sex and Couples Therapy. This is a new field of learning for all therapists that builds on sex therapy and relationship therapy and adds a third area: alternative forms of treatment that are designed specifically to meet the contemporary needs of today’s clients.

Professionals who study in this unique area of Integrative Therapy and Alternative Interventions will learn the fundamentals of relationship and sexual psychotherapy along with directives to create a safe, healing space for treating contemporary, alternative relationship structures.  Students will learn to discern the difference between intuitive vs intervention counseling and how to apply integrative therapy to their work.

These 15 hours of training are what make this program especially unique and are essential in the learning for therapists going forward in this field. We cannot continue to train therapists using texts and research that is fifty years old, that is not intercultural, gender fluid, non-binary, that includes BIPOC research and that does not include more modern and contemporary treatment models. Treatment includes interventions like EMDR, art therapy, expressive somatic experiencing, etc.  Integrative; Alternative Interventions courses include courses that take this field into the future and demand that clinical professionals integrate both sex therapy and relationship counseling with our current clientele and their unique dilemmas.  In order to keep up with the challenges of contemporary practice.

Participants choose from courses that intrigue them and challenge them, including mindfulness practice, intuition and empathy, basics of integrative therapy, and creating agreements for alternative relationships. Courses also include alternative learning and success courses including writing and publishing, creating and expanding a business, and growing a transformational life. Participants will practice and observe intuitive vs intervention counseling.

Participants will learn mindfulness and vision therapy, using contemporary interventions, integrative therapies and alternative treatments. Participants will expand their personal transformation and success narratives through writing, publishing and growing their businesses in ways that reward them.
