Anatomy and Physiology Across Genders


Course Description

Thursday October 7, 2026 10 am – 5 pm Eastern/7 am – 2 pm Pacific (6 hrs) The Trainer(s): Tammy Nelson, Ph.D. Pebble Kranz, M.D. Andres Brown, LMFT This full-day training co-taught by Dr. Pebble Kranz, a sexual, menopause, and gender medicine specialist, and Andres Larios Brown, a queer identity and multicultural expert, will give sex and relationship therapists a clinically grounded, affirming, and inclusive understanding of sexual anatomy and physiology across genders. Participants will review core sexual development, anatomy, arousal, desire, orgasm, and dysfunction; examine biomedical, relational, and psychosocial influences on sexual wellbeing; and strengthen assessment and psychoeducation skills relevant to cisgender, transgender, nonbinary, and intersex clients. The day is designed for clinicians pursuing AASECT certification and emphasizes translating anatomy and physiology into better case conceptualization, more precise referrals, and more effective sex therapy. In addition, there will be focused work on gender identity development, intersectionality, non-Western perspectives, clinician self-awareness, and skill application.
