Despina Mitchell, LMFT, CST, CSCT

Despina Mitchell LMFT, CST, CSCT graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2003 and has over 20 years of experience providing therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families in upstate NY. She is dedicated to fostering healthy relationships through improved communication and emotional connection. Despina’s approach is compassionate and direct, helping couples navigate complex issues such as disconnect (physical, emotional and sexual), communication struggles and relational betrayals.

Utilizing an integrative therapy approach, she creates a safe, nonjudgmental environment for open discussion. Despina is a clinical fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, holds certification in medical family therapy, is an AASECT-certified sex therapist and a Certified Sex and Couples Therapist through ISTI. She has a private practice in Rochester, New York, where in addition to providing therapeutic services, she also trains students and provides clinical placement and employment for limited permit clinicians. Beyond her clinical work, she actively contributes to her community as the fundraising chair for Golisano Children’s Hospital and serves as secretary for the Specialized Providers Network, emphasizing the importance of integrity and training in mental health practices.
