Dr. Nelly Cannon is a master therapist, well known as a leader throughout the sex therapy community.
Dr. Cannon is the Clinical Director of The Cannon Institute in Denver, Colorado. If there ever was a
strength-based clinician, it’s Nelly. Dr. Cannon has been immersed in the treatment of couples since
graduating from a two-year post graduate program in couples and family therapy. Dr. Cannon has more
than 10,000 hours of sex therapy experience, as well as more than 10,000 hours of experience as a
supervisor. Dr. Cannon has created processes to treat just about anything a sex therapist might
encounter with clients. Over the past decade, Dr. Cannon has supervised over 150 clinicians who have
become AASECT Certified Sex Therapists & Counselors. Nelly has been active in AASECT leadership since
2007. Nelly has served as Colorado Section Leader for two decades, as well as serving 6 years as Chair of
the Ethics Advisory Committee, and 2 years as Chair of the Bylaws Committee.
