This class will discuss treatment uses of Hallucinogens and Clinical Impact of MDMA, Ketamine, Psilocybin, LSD and Marijuana and will review the potential benefits for sexual and relational dysfunction – We will review the most recent research and information on current Clinical Trials along with the FDA Approval of medicines previously Schedule 1 Substances, now in use for a wide range of mental health challenges. We will discuss the potential for benefit, and therapeutic use with sexual issues and will caution against over-enthusiastic commercial use as rapid expansion in this field is measured against a lack of evidence for longitudinal results. The course will help clinicians of all levels understand the potential use and efficacy of these medicines and current clinical models of treatment. Meets Requirements for 2 CEs **: AASECT Human Sexuality Education Core Knowledge Areas (CKAs): D, E, F, H* AASECT Sex Therapist Content Areas: C AASECT Sexuality Counseling Content Areas: B AASECT Sexuality Educator Content Areas: D ISTI Knowledge Categories: 1a, 1d, 2a, 3a, 3d Recorded November 2023. *AASECT identifies CKAs G, H, K, L and Sex Therapist Content Areas C, D (*) as "time-sensitive". These categories include topics that change often and therefore the courses you take should contain up-to-date information. Recommended courses are within 2 years of the date you intend to apply for certification.
